Scholarship Details I

Title : School of the Built Environment - Postgraduate India Scholarship Scheme 2007

Amount/Value

GBP 1,300 (full-time programmes) / GBP 500 (per year - two year distance learning programme)

Description

For the academic year starting September 2007, the School of the Built Environment will award scholarships to students from India.

The scholarships will be implemented as fee discounts and will be based on academic merit. Every applicant who meets the academic standard will be awarded a scholarship. All applicants will be automatically considered for a scholarship.

Eligibility

To qualify for a scholarship, the applicant must:

* Hold an Indian passport and be due to pay the international tuition fee.
* Meet the academic standard required - Students should hold First Class degree (60%) from degree OR Masters class degree with second class degree from a recognised Indian institution from a NAAC assessed university or college with a Grade of B or above
* Due to the very stringent marking schemes at the University of Calcutta and University of Pune (1st class degrees normally given marks between 58 - 62%) we will accept students from these institutions with percentages over 58%

Additional conditions:

* Scholarships apply for 1 year only

Scholarships apply to all full-time and distance learning programmes within the School of the Built Environment. A list of programmes is given below.

* Applicants will still be required to pay the GBP 2,000 deposit to secure the unconditional offer letter.
* All applicants will be automatically considered for a scholarship - there is no separate application form.
* If you are awarded a scholarship you will be informed by the University at the same time you receive your offer letter from the University.

Amount/Value : GBP 2,000 (fees GBP 9,000 or above); GBP 1,000 (other fees)

Description

For the academic year starting September 2007, Salford Business School will award scholarships of GBP 2,000 or GBP 1,000 to students from India.

The scholarships will be implemented as fee discounts and will be based on academic merit. Every applicant who meets the academic standard will be awarded a scholarship. All applicants will be automatically considered for a scholarship.

Eligibility

To qualify for a scholarship, the applicant must:
* Hold an Indian passport and be due to pay the international tuition fee.

Obtain either

* a 4 year degree or
* a 3 year Bachelors degree plus or
* the equivalent and meet the academic standard required.

Additional conditions:

* Scholarships apply for 1 year only
* Scholarships apply to all full-time programmes within Salford Business School. A list of programmes is given below.
* Applicants will still be required to pay the GBP 2,000 deposit to secure the unconditional offer letter.
* All applicants will be automatically considered for a scholarship - there is no separate application form.
* If you are awarded a scholarship you will be informed by the University at the same time you receive your offer letter from the University.
* Students who receive an SBS scholarship are not eligible for the University of Salford International Scholarship scheme.

* If you are awarded a University of Salford International Scholarship of GBP4,000 you are not eligible for this award - students can only hold one award.
